Today, chinasinoy would like to give a brief introduction about Toyota TPMS (tire pressure monitoring system).
This article is mainly about 2004 - 2007 Toyota vehicles with direct TPMS and all 2008 and newer Toyota vehicles.

First, what is TPMS sensor?
And now, you should know the TPMS sensor. The TPMS Sensor is an integrated monolithic chip device. It is comprised of both a temperature and pressure sensor with on board circuitry. It’s the core of TPMS.
There are some different types of sensors like:
Toyota Tundra TPMS sensor
Toyota Sequoia TPMS sensor
Toyota Sienna TPMS sensor

What about TPMS?
Tire pressure is an important factor in car driving safety. Seasonal temperature change greatly affects tire pressure, which can cause the tire pressure warning lamp to illuminate.
Tire temperature is dependent on “cold” tire pressure, driving distance and speed, ambient temperature and road surface temperature. As the temperature of the tire changes, air in the tire expands and contracts, changing the tire’s air pressure. The cold tire pressure for all models will vary and will need to be adjusted accordingly.
“Cold” tire pressure, as shown on the tire pressure label on our vehicles, is generally considered to be the pressure in a tire that has not been driven in the past 4 hours and has been parked outdoors.

The TPMS must be initialized with the tire pressure marked on the vehicle placard. Tires are then adjusted according to the information in this article to ensure that the TPMS light does not illuminate unnecessarily.
